Basque Shoulder Course 2026 (BSC26)

The second edition of the Basque Shoulder Course (BSC26) will take place on June 11–12, 2026, at the Europa Congress Palace in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, under the direction of orthopedic surgeons Dr. Iban Aransaez Aguirre and Dr. Sergio González Escobar, founders of this scientific meeting dedicated to shoulder instability surgery.

This educational initiative is jointly organized by the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology of San Juan de Dios Hospital in Santurtzi (Bizkaia) and the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit (UCA) of Hospital MiKS in Vitoria-Gasteiz, establishing itself as a leading forum for knowledge exchange and professional development in shoulder surgery.

The course is endorsed by the Spanish Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT) and the Spanish Shoulder and Elbow Society (SECHC), and is supported by the Spanish Association of Multidimensional Ultrasound (PANEC), organizations that guarantee the scientific quality and educational value of the program.

Driven by a commitment to advancing knowledge in shoulder surgery, the organizers have designed this second edition with a highly practical approach focused on surgical excellence. BSC26 will bring together a distinguished panel of leading Spanish experts who will share their clinical and surgical experience through lectures, debates, and educational sessions.

Over the course of two days, participants will explore key topics related to glenohumeral instability surgery, including surgical planning and optimization, the integration of artificial intelligence into clinical practice, novel implants and technological advances, complication management and prevention, and advanced surgical techniques for shoulder instability.

Thanks to the participation of renowned specialists and the incorporation of the latest technological and material innovations, BSC26 aims to remain at the forefront of shoulder instability surgery while fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange between experienced surgeons and those beginning their journey in arthroscopic shoulder surgery.

Participants will also have access to cutting-edge surgical simulation and virtual reality technologies, providing an interactive, high-value learning experience.

The course aims to create a meeting point for established surgeons and the next generation of specialists, promoting continuous education, professional networking, and updates on the most innovative techniques for the treatment of shoulder instability.
